T Portals

T Portal is an additional component of adjustable pallet racking, which makes it possible to create storage areas within the racking row, rather than outside its outline.

Storage areas are segregated sections of warehouse space acting as a buffer between the storage area and the load handling area.

They are used primarily in warehouses with narrow aisles, where two types of forklifts are used: reach trucks working in the aisles and forklift trucks transporting palletized goods to other zones of the warehouse.

Deposit fields are the contact point between these zones and the place where a forklift of the first type leaves a pallet so that the forklift of the second type can collect it for further operations.

T Portals applications

Storage areas are most often planned outside the framing, next to the front of a rack. As a result, valuable space above the fields remains unused. The use of the “T” portal makes it possible to remove the top frames of the rack at the height of the “0” level, and thus move the storage fields deeper into the first section of the row.

The design of the “T” portal, despite its apparently simple construction, is a complex engineering issue. This is because a single column, which is basic component of the product, is exposed to weights that are normally supported by 4 columns. MGL’s unique design solutions give the user confidence that the installation of the “T” portal will not have any negative effect o strength and stability of the rest of the racking configuration.
